[sg_popup id=”6″ event=”hover”][/sg_popup]Hello lovely people, welcome back. I am so excited to share with you my latest trip to a beautiful spa in Great Chart, Kent.
The Granary Spa
The Granary Spa was created by Clare Singleton to create a holistic retreat where guests would be able to escape, stop and recharge.
From the moment you walk through the door, you feel a sense of warmth and relaxation. There are many treatment rooms and a lovely upstairs relaxation area filled with cosy chairs, recliners, massage chairs and Cattelan chaise longue.
Once checked-in you are taken upstairs to have a seat, relax and enjoy a complimentary drink with a biscuit on the side- perfect for letting your hair down! I must also add, the tea is served in a proper teapot, with a fine teacup and saucer.
Alongside the relaxation area, you can explore the micro-shop. Here you will find all the tea you need from Pukka Tea and handmade 100% organic skincare from Made for Life Organics.
The Granary Spa is best known for their natural approach to beauty. Ensuring spa treatments are available to everyone, especially those who are suffering life’s difficulties. The Granary Spa is also supporting local brands, working closely with Made for Life Organics. A natural beauty brand based in Cornwall.
Made for Life Organics
Made for Life Organics was created from a need for skincare that nourishes your body both inside and out. Originally developed from an orthodox medical background, the products have been developed by combining dermatological science with the strength and purity of botanicals.
From the beginning, every single product has been made by hand in Cornwall. Using herbs, flowers and oils from as close as quality will allow. They track the provenance of every ingredient that goes into their products so each balm, oil or ointment has its own life story. Made for Life Organics is a pure and clean way of life. They do not add any synthetic chemicals, including parabens.
With the skin being the largest organ of your body, up to 2kg of chemicals can be absorbed through it each year just from toiletries and skin care products. They promise uncontaminated natural product which will not be tested on animals. They process their balms and oils using a unique method of capturing solar and lunar energy during a targeted ‘maceration’, which lies at the heart of each product to provide intense and natural properties.
Made for Life Organics is an ethos of healthy and wholesome living, from the labels on our recycled glass bottles and jars to the product miles of our ingredients. It is about making choices that contribute to our own wellbeing and that of the world we live.
Recently I have made the decision to start using organic products throughout my life. Having started to use organic products I have seen a major improvement in my skin. By using organic products, your body takes what it needs from the product and ignores the rest.
Did you know thousands of harmful toxic chemicals make their way daily from our sinks, showers and toilets into the sewage system? Most of the worst chemical offenders derive from the runoff cosmetics, shower and skincare products. These chemicals are absorbed by the body both in standard use or coming into contact with the runoff that is released into our water systems.
Organic is about maintaining a clean & sustainable environment, both in our own bodies and the world in which we live by restriction of the use of artificial chemical fertilisers and pesticides.
After exploring the micro-shop and relaxing with my cup of tea, my therapist Gemma directed me to our treatment room.
The first of my treatments was a Radiance Facial. This treatment is designed to eliminate congestion returning normal moisture to the skin. All the facials at the Granary Spa use the Made for Life Organics products. The good things about these products as I have mentioned before is anyone can use them for any skin type. I have, as I am sure many of you do, an oily t-zone.
I was shocked to hear Gemma was using an oil based cleansing balm to remove my makeup and clean deep into my pores. The smell and texture of this balm was so relaxing. As Gemma was working it into my skin I could really feel it cleaning deep. Inside this balm you kind find clove and eucalyptus to help detoxify, jojoba to regulate your sebum and coconut oil to soften, soothe and melt away impurities.
Facial Skin Toner
The next product was the refresh and clarify facial skin toner. This alcohol-free toner uses floral essences to help your skin feel refreshed but not tight. The sage helps to reduce your pores and the lavender soothes and the chamomile helps to restore your skins natural balance.
Brightening facial Exfoliator
By now my skin was feeling amazing, so clean and fresh- but there was more to come. Gemma began to exfoliate my skin using the brightening facial exfoliator. This exfoliator uses many natural ingredients. Chamomile to gently exfoliate and buff the skin to reveal a smooth, glowing complexion. Rose and vanilla combined with jojoba, coconut oil, calendula and chamomile to deeply nourish and balance, leaving your skin detoxified, soft, smooth and clear.
Rejuvenating face Oil and Protect facial Moisturising Balm
To finish the facial, Gemma massaged some rejuvenating face oil and replenish and protect moisturising balm. These products are packed with ingredients that are rich in antioxidant vitamins A and E, such as carrot and wheatgerm oils which work to repair your skin’s elasticity. Ylang Ylang relaxes your mind and increases blood circulation while sweet orange provides the final protection and barrier to any harmful bacteria and free radicals.
Once my facial was over, Gemma treated me to an amazing Indian head massage. I love head massages and I really feel they help me with headaches and stress.
Using Made for Life Organics head and hair treatment oil. Rich in vitamins D and E it helps to protect and nourish skin. The jojoba and olive oil work to rebalance the skin and help replace oils stripped from the hair by traditional shampoos.
The head massage was the most relaxing experience. It was so nice to forget about the world around me and just have some “me” time.
Other treatments on offer
The Granary Spa is not just about massages and facials, they also offer a wide selection of beauty treatments such as eyebrow waxing, LVL lash lifts and shellac manicures to name only a few.
What I love most about here is no matter what you are coming for, whether it be an all day pamper session or a quick manicure you can make use of their facilities and just have some time for yourself. There is no pressure to make small talk or be with any other people. The Granary Spa is the prefect place to leave it all behind and just concentrate on yourself.
I really enjoyed my evening at the Granary Spa and I can not wait to return to treat myself to another facial or massage.
